How To Get The Brows You've Always Wanted

Why are well-groomed brows important?
Esthetically, the eyebrows act to frame the eyes and highlight your best features. A proper eyebrow shape can soften facial features, brighten your appearance, and make you look more youthful.

Put down the tweezers
To get the shape that best flatters your face, it’s important to embrace your natural brows. Grow them out. Let them get crazy. There is no such thing as “too hairy” to your waxing technician. The more brow hair you have, the more your technician will have to work with. You’ll want to let them grow for a minimum of two weeks. Leaving them alone can be hard to do, but you’ll be so glad you did. You can do it!

You’ve got options
Once your brows have grown out, there are several options to best accentuate your shape. This all depends on what type of brow hair you have and how much of it you have left.

Waxing/threading
To keep your brows looking their best, this is a must. The excess hair is removed to reveal a more clean and shapely brow. For best results, you’ll want to keep up with these appointments every two to three weeks.
Brow mascara
Those with longer, coarser brow hair can benefit from the use of brow mascara. Once you get your waxing or threading done, the hairs may not lay the exact way you’d like them to. Brow mascara will help them to stay in place all day. There are both clear and pigmented brow mascaras available. If you have lighter-colored brows and would like them to appear more visible, you may want to give the pigmented option a try.

Tinting
Tinting is an excellent option for those who have a significant amount of gray or white hairs in the brow or for those who have light-colored brow hair. As we age, many of us begin to notice the ends or “tails” of the eyebrow tend to lighten and lose hair. This can make the brows appear more sparse than you might like. Tinting can help even out the color of the brows to create a more complete shape. There are a variety of color options and the results will typically last just over one month.

Microblading
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing. Most brow types can benefit from this service. If you are tired of penciling your brows on every day, this is the service for you. Treatment can give those with little to no eyebrows a more polished, complete shape. It’s also beneficial for those who may have plenty of their own brow hair, but have always wanted their shape to appear more full. The procedure is similar to traditional eyebrow tattooing, but utilizes a different technique to deposit pigment into the skin. Microblading involves a precise hair simulation technique to create a more realistic-looking, natural result. With microblading, the results can last up to 18 months!

Which option is best for me?
Scheduling a brow consultation is likely the best place to start. This way your technician can analyze your brows and make recommendations on which service or services would be the best fit for you.

Be patient
Taking these steps to getting better brows can be a process, but be patient with it. It will all be worth it in the end!
